We had a great stay at a comfortable and clean guesthouse. the rooms were small but cozy, typical of Japanese hotels. the location was perfect, situated on a quiet street but close to the bustling bar and restaurant area. the staff were very helpful and accommodating, providing us with extra pillows when requested. the guesthouse offered free breakfast, although it was limited to just rolls. We also appreciated the option to bring and store our own food in the fridge.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kaede Guesthouse. Cons: There was nothing we didn't like 😊.

I recently stayed at a lovely guesthouse in Kyoto for a few days. The staff, especially the girl with shoulder-length hair, were extremely helpful and friendly. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shared rooms were spacious and clean. They had a great kitchen where we could cook our own meals for free, and the laundry facilities were very affordable. They even provided free breakfast with a selection of breads and drinks. I will definitely be returning to this guesthouse in the future. Arigatou gozaimasu!
I strongly recommend this hotel.

I had a fantastic stay at this charming guesthouse. The staff were incredibly helpful and provided valuable information about the area. The Japanese-style private room was comfortable and the beds were spacious with individual lights and charging ports. The showers were excellent with toiletries provided. The complimentary breakfast was a pleasant surprise, and the 24/7 tea and coffee were a nice touch. The guesthouse's location was conveniently situated near some great dining options and close to public transport.
The dormitory roommates in the female dorm were a bit inconsiderate, being noisy during the night.

Liked the convenient location, just a short 5-minute walk to a department store and the bustling Nishiki market. Access to public transportation was effortless.
Disliked the disorderly ambiance and lack of cleanliness. The noise levels were unacceptable, with guests making a ruckus as early as 6AM.

The guesthouse is conveniently located near popular shopping streets and tourist spots. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The common area is cozy and the staff is friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. Guests can enjoy a free breakfast with coffee, tea, and pastries. Additionally, the guesthouse offers bike rental for exploring the city.
The bunk beds in the top bunks have uncomfortable ladders and the location of the lamp can be inconvenient for reading at night.
